my mother

My mother is one a person that I respect most. This is the picture that I took with my mother when I graduated from a high school.

I often said that I take after my mother, though I don't know wether it is true or not. She majored English philology when she was a university student, so she is accomplish at English. Before she got merried to my father, she was an English teacher. After I was borned, she taught Japanese to ALT, who is a teacher working at Japanese elementary school or junior high school. She loves English, so I was taught English by her when I was a little child. It made me to be interested in English, and I decided to major in English at university. Thanks to my mother, she gave me a great oppotunity!!

Moreover, she is very understanding for me. She always cheer me up when I am in very low spirits. Since I've started to live alone, I was helped by her very much. I have to be a good daughter for her:-)

calligraphy club

Hi!! I became drowsy...lol

The last time, I wrote about karate club, so this time I'd like to introduce about calligraphy club that I belonged besides karate club when I was a high school student.

I've learned calligraphy since I was a 4 or 5 years old child, so I love calligraphy very much. Therefore, I wanted to join calligraphy club for I long time. Actually, I became to love calligraphy even more after I joined the club!! I learned many things from seniors and teachers. Calligraphy was so interesting for me. Each person's work has features, and it vary from person to person. It is one of the interests of calligraphy. Moreover, I was not only interested in writing it, but also interested in history of it. Learning about the person who wrote famous work always helps us to write our own work! When I was second grade in high school, I did head of the club. Busy days continued at that time, but I could learn many precious things. This is the pucture with all calligraphy club's members!!

There are so many club members in this club. I love all of them<333


And, I wrote masthead of school yearbook in the third grade of high school!! This is the picture of it:)

School yearbooks are important things for many graduates, so I wrote it many times until a good work was done. Finally, I could write convincing work, so I was relieved. I was glad to get such precious chance;)

karate club

Hi!!

Writing about Seiryo-sai reminded me my high school days!! Therefore, I'd like to write about my high school memories once again. I'd like to write about my club memories. I belonged two clubs, karate club and calligraphy club, when I was a high school student. This time I'd like to write about my memories of karate club.

When I entered high school, I didn't dare to join karate club, though I've practiced it since I was 9 years old. I didn't like training at that time, and I was planning to join only calligraphy club. However, that thought was changed completly after I went to see karate club's training. All members were so kind, and they practiced karate eagerly. I fascinated by this club's atmosphere, and I thought I wanted to practice with this members, so I decided to join karate club besides calligraphy club. The training was sometimes so hard, but I could spend a good time with club members:) In second grade and third grade in high school, I could participate a national championship, though it wasn't an Interscholastic athletic meet. That was one of my memoriable events. I could experience many things there!

 This picture is with my teacher and clubmembers in the same year. In our grade, there were four members. The number of member was few, but the atmosphere of the club was so homelike that I love my club.

He's so interesting teacher that I like him very much:) Moreover, his way of teaching karate was great!! I owed a lot to him!! I couldn't meet him in this winter vacation, so I wanted to see him in spring;)

Seiryo-sai 2

Good evening!!

The last time, I wrote about Seiryo-sai. It is so great sports festival!! Seiryo-sai is a memoriable event for me(It might not only for me, but most my high school's graduates might think like me). Last year, I went back to Niigata to see Seiryo-sai after I graduated from high school!!

This is a picture with my friend and juniors:) Juniors, especially third grade of students, did well in that day!! Their performance was soooooo great that I was touched by them. They also carried on our torch well. I was grad to see Seiryo-sai again. Participating sports festival is one of  the perquisites of high school students. In university, there are no events like sports festival. I wish I were a high school student... I envy them!! I want to participate spots festival again, though I know I cannot do it.

Seiryo-sai

Hello~!

The title of this article, "Seiryo-sai", is my high school's sports festival. It is held on the second Saturday of June every year. Seiryo-sai is one of my memoriable events in my high school days!!

I did a chief who decided contestants of each event. The work was so hard!! Around the same time that I was preparing for sports featival, the day of prefectual tournament was also coming, so I was very busy!! Though preparing for spots festival was so hard, I was really enjoying it because I could worked with my friends♪ My friends always helped me, so I could do my work smoothly. This is the picture with my friends.

I also practice hard in preparation for the performance of cheer and dance. In my high school's sports festival, each group performances original dance according to the group's color and theme. Our group's color was purple and the theme is "Prison breaking".

The story of this dance is like this. Prisoners were working hard at jail everday, but one day, they decided to break out of the prison, and they did it. Meanwhile, The Police soon knew prisoners' breaking out, and they started to look for them. One day, when prisoners got tired to escape from the police, they met kind girls and recieved flowers from them. However, the police found this scene, and they arrested the girls. Prisoners were shocked to it, and they decided to return to the jail and help the girls without regard for their arresting. They fought against the police and finally they could helped the girls, but they were caught again. Though they started to work at jail again after the dust settled, they seemed to be happy because there were flowers which recieved from the girls in their hands. They were captive prisoners, but their herats were free at last!! This is the whole story.

Though I felt little ashamed of wearing that costume, I could enjoy dacing♪♪








We expressed conflict between prisoners and the police so well that finally our group got the first prize in dancing section!! Moreover, our group finished second overall!! I was so glad of these prize:-D In our sports festival, top three groups of each section can recieve bean-jam buns!! Finally, we got 5 bean-jam buns<333 We ate it after sports festival. It was sooooooo delicious♪

hina doll

Hello~:-) How are you doing?

In the last day I went back to Niigata, my father displayed hina doll for me. This is my hina doll!!









My parents bought it for me when I was born. Hina doll is Japanese traditional doll which is diplayed in Doll Festival(Hina-matsuri in Japanese), which is held on March 3th. Families with girls display a set of hina dolls at home, so my father display it every year since I was born:) Most families generally start to display the dolls around mid-February, but I didn't know when I came back next time, so my father displayed it ealier than usual in this year. Thanks to my father, I was happy to see my hina doll this year:) I love this doll very much!! When I was a little child, I often played house with these doll in March.

My father always display this picture frame with hins doll. The picture frame with my and my mother's picture in it★! It is the picture that my father took when I was one year old. I and my mother wore kimono!! It might be the first time for me to wear it:-) Does it look good on me?lol

The reason why Japanese display hina doll on March 3th is because it is believed hina doll protect girls from bad luck. Thanks to my parents, I'm doing well these days. This might because hina doll was displayed♪lol

New Year's cards

Hi, guys!!

Did you write New Year's cards? I've finished writing them yesyerday's evening. I was so busy last year that I couldn't write them through the end of the year. In this year, I only sent replies to the cards that I received because of my business. Though I was too late to write them, I love to write New Year's cards using Chinese ink and a writing brush. This is because I've learned calligraphy for a long time. I write New Year's cards by hands every year, though today is the IT technology of the Internet age. This is my New Year's card in 2011.

I didn't have much time to write it, so I considered how I wrote it simply. And I considered how I write the words "賀正" in friendly letters. Finally my New Year's card was completed!!



I wrote it all by my writing brush. The Chinese zodiac sign in this year is rabit, so I drew simple monochrome rabit using Chinese ink. I discovered an easy way to draw it!! And I decorated it using a decoration tape♪ However, I wanted to decorate it more, but I had little time to do it because I had to leave Niigata, so I couldn't do it after all. This New Year's card can't be said that a beautiful thing, so in the next year, I want to draw it much better than this year!! I have to allow enough more time for writing it to do that...

By the way, fewer young people are exchanging New Year's cards these days. I was so sad to hear that!! I think, New Year's card is one of the important Japanese cultures, so we must cherish it more.

Hello:-)

I arrived at Fuchinobe in this early in the morning. I used overnight bus once again. I always got tired when I
used it, but this time, I could have a good sleep though I don't know why. I felt so lonely to leave my hometown Niigata:'( I feel at home with my family, so I didn't want to leave my home, but I had to attend classes. I'll return to Niigata as soon as I finsh the whole final tests. I miss spending time with my family!!

Today, I had classes after a long interval. I did little preparation for German class, so it was too hard for me to understand. Examination time will soon start, so I have to study hard from now... I don't want to fail classes in this semester!! However, I could see many friends after so long. Everyone seemed fine, so I was very happy:) Tomorrow, we'll have IE listening class!! I will be able to meet IE classmates♪ I'm looking forward to seeing all of you;) And I heard some of you go abroad. Please tell me stories of your travels!! I want to go abroad next summer vacation...

K-On!

Hello? How are doing these days?

This article's title "K-On!" is one of my favorite animation. Today, I'd like to write about it.

K-On! is a Japanese famous animation produced by Kyoto Animation. A 13-episode aired in Japan between April and June 2009, and a 26-episode second season, titled K-On!! (with two exclamation marks), aired in Japan between April and September 2010. The original is a Japanese four pannel comic strip mannga written and illustrated by Kakifly.

K-On!'s story revolves around four Japanese high school girls who join their school's light music club to try to save it from being abolished. However, they are the only members of the club, and at first Yui Hirasawa, the main character, has no experience playing musical instraments. Eventually, she learns how to be an excellent guitar player. Since then, Yui, bassist Mio Akiyama, drummer Ritsu Tainaka and keyboardist Tsumugi Kotobuki spend their school days practicing, performing, or just hanging out together. The club is overseen by music teacher Sawako Yamanaka, who eventually becomes their homeroom teacher as well during their final year of high school. In their second year of high school, the club welcomes another guitarist, an underclassman named Azusa Nakano. After Azusa joins, they gain more structure and begin to practice more. The story concludes at the end of the third year for the senior members. They all agree to attend the same university after high school and leave the club to Azusa after graduation. Yui's sister, Ui, and their friend Jun both join the club for Azusa's senior year.

I love this animation because the depiction of characters is soooooooo cute!! Andmore, music of this animation is great!! This video is one of the opening theme of this animation, "GO!GO!MANIAC!". It's so good song that you might be like it♪ Please listen it:)

After the final TV anime episode of K-On!! aired, an anime film was announced to be in production by Kyoto Animation, so I'm looking forward to seeing it!!

KILLER STREET

Hello~:-)

This morning, I went to a hospital to see a doctor because I had a external otitis. I had taken medicines these days, so I was said that I recovered it completly by a doctor. I was so happy to hear that. I have to be careful about an ear pick from now...I'm through with hospital!!

After I saw a doctor, I went to TSUTAYA to renew my T-card. It downed to the wire, so I renewed it today. There, the person who renewed own card could borrow a CD or a DVD in free, so I borrowed Southern All Stars' CD album, "KILLER STREET". I once borrowed it from my friend before, but I wanted to put the songs into my Walkman, so I borrowed it again. This video is one of the songs in this CD album, "BOHBO No5". I love Southern's songs very much!! Please listen to it♪



Southern All Stars, also known by the abbreviations Southern, is a Japanese pop/rock band that formed in the mid 1970s. The band is composed of Keisuke Kuwata(lead vocal and guitars), Yuko Hara (vocals and keyboards), Kazuyuki Sekiguchi (bass), Hiroshi Matsuda (drums) and Hideyuki "Kegani" Nozawa (percussion). Southern All Stars has been taking a break from musical activities now. I hope they begin music again soon!!

haircut(my dogs)

Hi!!

Recently, my dogs, Ru and Fluffy, had a haircut because it was the beginning of the year<333 Dogs have to go a barber and get a haircut at regular intervals like human. They always have to be clean. This is the picture of my dog, Fluffy.

 

Isn't she sooooooo cute:D? She has a cute ribbon on her head!! The pattern of the ribbon is Japanese-inspired, so it evokes The New Year's day. She looks so good on this ribbon that she doesn't seem to be a 11 years old dog.lol I love her very much;)

However, I couldn't take Ru's picture... He moves so actively that it is hard to take his nice picture. The picture is always blurred... Though there are no his haircut picture, he bacame much more handsome!!lol

yesterday

Hi!! How are you?
I'd like to wtite about my yesterday's news:)

Yesterday, I went to my high school to participate Karate club's training with my senior in the morning. When I went to my high school on 28th December, I couldn't practice because it was the year-end cleaning day, so I was happy to join it today!! It was this year's first training for me, so I got little tired. I didn't take exercise these days, so I must have a sore muscle tomorrow. However, I could do a good training!! I want to participate my high school's training in next spring vacation, too;)

After the training, I went to my mother's family home to see my grandparents and cousin. I visited them for the fiest time in about 4 month, so I was looking forward to seeing them!! We talked a lot of things, such as my college life and club activity. They cheer for my college life, so I was very happy. We also went shopping to a departmentstore:) It was the beginning of the mew year, so most of the shops was having sales.

These are the pictures of clothes that I bought yesterday. I bought a white sweater and a red cadigan. On the back of the white sweater, there are cute ribbons:) I wanted both of the for a long time, so I was glad to buy them at a sale. A total of the price was only about 2000 yen!! I could enjoy shopping very much<333

Hakone Ekiden

Good evening!!

This is today's dinner<333 We ate grated yam!!

Grated yam is one of my younger brother's favorite foods, so my grandmother cooked it for today's dinner. Thanks to my grandmother, it was so delicious♪ It tasted so good that I had some extra bowls of rice. I feel as if I had gained weight recently.lol

By the way, did you watch Hakone Ekiden? I watch it on TV every year. It was sooooooo great!! Aoyama Gakuin University did well in this ekiden!! Final runner's running was left an indelible impression to me. Finally, Aoyama Gakuin University was in the 9th place. Teams that finish in the top 10 are seeded in the following year's Hakone Ekiden, so I was very glad of this result! We can see our university in next Hakone Ekiden, too!! I'm looking forward to seeing our university's running in next year. I've participate Ekiden when I was a junior high school, so felt nostalgic when I watched it on TV. Though our team couldn't win in prefectural tournament, it is one of my precious memories.

Shrek Forever After

Good evening:-)

Today, my father had a free movie ticket, so I went to see a movie with him. We saw "Shrek Forever After". It is a 2010 animated fantasy-comedy film, and it is the fourth and final installment in the Shrek film series. I've saw all Shrek film, Shrek1~3, so I wanted to see it for a long time!! The story of it was so interesting. I love this film the best in all Shrek series. The message of the film was so clear that everyone could understand it easily. I saw it in 3D. It was the first time for me to see a movie in 3D, so I was very excited before I saw it. In fact, images were beautiful and vigorous★

Have you ever seen this film? If you not, I recommend you to see it in 3D!! You might enjoy seeing it.

grilled eel

Hello~:-) How are you?

Today, I ate a bowl of rice topped with grilled eel♪ This is a picture of today's lunch.

My grandmother received some eels from her friend!! Eel is one of my favorite foods, so I was happy to eat it. It tasted sooooo good!!










While I eating it, I watched the game of the Emperor's Cup soccer championship on TV. Niigata-nishi high school participated the championship as the representative of Niigata prefecture. The captain of Niigata-nishi high school is a junior of my junior high school!! He was my brother's classmates, so I know him very well. He and his younger brother made a very strong showing, and the team won second-round match yeasterday!! Today, the team played third-round match against Rissho university shonan high school. I watched the whole game on TV. Niigata nish high school played well, but the team lost 5-1 to Rissho university shonan high school. Though it's a disappointing, I was happy to watch their brave figures;)

Hello:-) How are you doing?

Today, I'd like to write about my favorite Japanese singer, Ayumi Hamasaki.



Ayumi Hamasaki, who is called Ayu by her fans, is a Japanese singer-songwriter and fomer actress. Since her 1998 debut with the single "Poker Face",  Hamasaki has sold over 50 million records in Japan, ranking her among the best-selling singers in the country. She is one of the most popular singer in Japan!! She is so beautiful and has a good figure. Before she became a singer, she worked as a model. Her fashion is always so cute that many girls are influenced by her.

I love her because of her song's lyrics. She wrote her songs all by herself. I can listen her song sympathetically. I also love her voice, and the way she sings. Her high voice is sooooo beautiful♪ This is one of her famous songs, "Moments". This video is the footage of live. The way of her singing is so powerful!!

By the way, recently I heard a surprising news of her. She will be married!! On 1th January, she told it on her blog. Her marriage partner is Austrian man. She met him at her song's filming and they started to get along. They will file their marriage paper in the near future. The news was unexpected, so I was very surprised when I knew that. However, I was so glad of her marriage because I'm one of her fans. Anyway, congratulations on her wedding!!

Good evening!!

Today, my cousin, who is working at a hotel as a cook, came to my home and brought us New Year's food, which was sold at his hotel, so we ate it this evening. This is the picture of today's dinner!!

New Year's Food that he brought was sooooo delicious<333 In New Year's Food, there were some western sweets, too, such as tart and pie. I've never seen Nea Year's Food which included western foods before, so I was surprised when I saw it. However the taste of it was so good that I recommend you to try it if you have a chance to eat it!!

By the way, my cousin will be married in this year. He will get married to a woman who is working at same hotel resterant. He spent a long time with her. I was little bit surprised when I heard that because he is 21 years old and he's young, but I was so glad about his marriage. My cousin and his fiance are living together now. I hope they can spend a life filled with happiness from now on. I'm looking forward to attending his wedding ceremony, too!!

New Year's Day

A happy new year!! It is the beginning of a new year:-)

This morning, I ate New year's food, which is called "osechi" in Japanese. My grand mother prepared it for us before New Year's Day. The foods that make up osechi each have a special meaning associated with good luck, so eating it in New Year's Day is so auspicious!! It was soooooo delicious<333

After I ate it, I visited to a shrine for Hatsumoude. I went to Suwa Shrine, which lies in near my house, and prayed for happiness and a healthy year. I want to be an energish woman this year. It means, a person who has an ability to take action. Last year, I did few challenges because I was afraid of making big mistake. Reflecting on this, I want to challenge a lot of things in 2011!! Passing English Language Proficiency test is one of my aim of this year. I also want to challenge TOEIC and TOFLE because I havn't had it before. Studying for these tests will make my English ability improved, too. Anyway, I'll try hard to pass and get high mark in these test :) I hope my effort will be rewarded.

a happy new year

Good evening and happy new year :-)
The new year has just started!! First of all, I'd like to write about yesterday, the last day of the year.

Yesterday, I went out to karaoke all through the night, so I came home at 8 a.m. As soon as coming home, I went to bed. I was so tired that I get up out of a deep sleep at 4 p.m.!! I had slept too long.lol After I got up, I had a dinner with my family.

It was New Year's Eve, so sumptuous dishes were served for dinner:) My mother and grandmother prepared them for us. All of them were so delicious<333 They tasted so good that I ate too much...



After I ate it, I watched Red and White Singing Festival. It is NHK's annual year-end grand song festival. This festival features many famous singers and groups, so I watch it every year. This year, Keisuke Kuwata, one of my favorite artists, appeared in the festival!! He had been depicted esophagus cancer, but he has recovered it in 2010, so he participated the festival for a guest singer as part of a comeback attempt. I had foud the vedio of it, but it was deleted this morning... So, please watch this video!! This song is one of my favorite winter songs, "White Lovers(白い恋人達)".



In Red and White Singing festival, I felt his singing wasn't at his best yet, but I was glad to know his comeback;) Red and White Singing festival was so interesting. The year will not be over until I have seen the annual this festival!!

I'll go to bed now. This night is too cold...
